The most comfy of all the sportsbikes out there with real world torque and spread of power.

Doubt you'd get a better sportsbike for touring.

That's one of the things journo's mark it and the blade down for each yr during testing.........it feels like an old slipper which makes it easy to go fast on straight away then they go on to say and that's the problem! o_O

Which is precisely why I'm considering one.

I'll have the latest n greatest for Track use in the ZX10R so all I want for the road is a 'Comfy Slipper' that can still lift it's skirt on the twisties when on Tour.

With the new model out later this year there are some KILLER deals on the outgoing GSXR and tbh no fecker can use anymore on the road anyway so why pay more for a road bike is my thinking?

Would have another Blade if the ABS wasn't Wank!

The Gixer uses the Bosch ABS so all good and comes with Brembo calipers!

Invaluable on a Road Bike in the wet matey!

    I've had it happen!

Cruising along on auto pilot and some owd dear pulls out on ya completely outa the blue.

Takes some feckin skill not to grab a handful and lock up in those circumstances.

When your expecting it and concentrating, like on a wet track day, I can brake a non ABS bike to a nano second of lock up, corner after corner, lap after lap but on the road is a whole diff ball game never mind Diesel spills, gravel etc

Gixer is a top bike for touring J
however the brakes are horrendous ! They may say brembo but I'm sure they can't be? By far the worst brakes on a bike I've ever ridden !!!

More down to the MC to be honest mate. We changed the MC, lines and pads on Craig's track bike and the brakes are great.

Never tried them without the current setup, but had heard much the same on an other forum about the standard setup.

Cheap enough fix if you go down the accosatto fixed ratio route and lines offer you get on here from BDS.

One of the vids on YT tested all the litres (2013 or 2014 maybe?) and the Blade came last but one and the Gixer last but all the electronic shite was the reason the other stuff scored higher. The reckoned the Blade and Gixer were the better day in day out bikes and the best road bikes and all the testers had more fun on the Gixer especially as you could wheelie and stoppie without intervention! Says it all really. Who needs to be 1/10th inside the lap record for Almeria or wherever when their bike spends 85% of its time on the roads!

When I had my K5 I had 2010 Blade stoppers on it and I took out a 14 Gixer and aside from the brakes being more or less on par with mine in their standard form, the bike was superb. When I got back on mine the BPF suspension was that good compared with mine, I pulled over within half a mile to check the front tyre wasn't flat!!!! I'd recently had my forks rebuilt too!

There were new pre-reg deals going on at the time for £8600!!!!!
