Most Aprilia dealers have a RSV4 demo bike.
Ridden a few in the past but haven't ridden the RSV4 RF yet.

    Test ride arranged for tomorrow.

Fortunately On Yer Bike are Aprilia and Yamaha main dealers along with Ducati and Kawasaki.

    Just to mention it:
If you want to have a test ride at OnYerBike, you normally have to pay 25 GBP for it!!!
The exception are only customer who really want to buy and pay that amount of money for the RF or R1 etc.!!!
It's not just show up and have a test ride and fun for everybody. Especially not with an 18.000 GBP bike !
If you show up with an old bike its unlikely that they will hand over the RF for a test ride....

Test rode the RSV4 RF and 2015 R1 this afternoon.
Sunny, extremely cold and wet roads unfortunatelly

Initially rode the RSV, fantastic front end, wherever you point it, it goes.
Smooth power delivery however felt a little like a Ducati v twin under 3000RPM, not as smooth as the blade.
Couldnt get the power down in the lower gears due to wheel spin/traction however great power delivery in the upper rev range. Didnt feel 205bhp fast, but very smooth, however bike had only done 220miles!!!
Sounded great at the upper rev range but far too quiet, needs a race can or sysyem, then would be perfect.
Love the look of the bike.

Then rode the R1 which was even queiter and initially felt slower.
Handled well however didnt have the razor sharp front end of the RSV4.
Throttle response was just so snappy, sorry did I forget to tell you how snappy the throttle was!!!
Had to keep the bike above 9000RPM for smooth throttle response and acceleration. Below this level it felt flat and snatchy. Not sure if I could live with that. Maybee on track above 9000RPM its amazing however on the road with traffic, its a challenge.
Very quick between 9000 RPM and the red line, however dissapointing otherwisw.
Dash is absolutely amazing, looks fab.
I was also pleasantly surprised how good it looked in red and white (looks rubish in the photos).

The dealer had a 15 plate R1M whch was having its gearbox replaced. Had a good look at the bike however wasnt overwhelmed by the look of the bike. Looks very long for a sportsbike. Think the red and white possibly looks better. Too much silver on the R1M, however its a personal choice.

Havent yet decided which was to go however with a potential £1750 difference in price after a saving on the £18195 RPM on the RSV4 RF, the RSV4 RF does start to look very attractive.

As an aside On Yer Bike Aylesbury are extremely helpful and a great bunch, highly recommended.

    Watch this space..........................

At that mileage I suspect the dealer hadn't released the full power of the RSV, until it's clocked up 600 miles and its first service.
This was the case with the one at Via Moto Sheffield and was the reason I have yet to test ride it.

Have to say handling wise I've never felt a better bike out the box than the RSV4 and it's comfy.

Just the reliability that I'd have hanging over my head if I had to spend my own cash on 1.

I'll have to have a word with the people in Canterbury then, as they have had 3 RF's in for various people, but no demo.

TBH it is just as well, as if I'd actually ridden it, I know I'd have had to have one, been trying to convince myself that I don't need it for months, but have so far failed miserably :(

Decided not to go for the R1M and have lost my allocation as of this afternoon.

However bought a new Yamaha YZF450 60th Anniversary special edition on the weekend to replace my stolen Honda CRF450R.

Setting up a new Motocross/motorcycle security company next week so the new bike will be suitably protected. If anyone needs GPS trackers etc let me know and I cam sort you out a deal!!

Probably going to go for a new Aprilia RSV4 RF in March along with a tasty exhaust
