hi anybody know how the screen fits at the bottom end and what it fits into ? I can see 2 rubbers but I don't know its a push or a pull and I don't want to snap anything , cheers.
Are you going to reuse the screen or fit a different one? The reason I'm asking is because the standard screen has 6 bungs but only 4 screws on the top 4 bungs. The bottom 2 inside the nose cone can be carefully pulled apart. They'll be painful if you want to reuse the screen in the future because of their location. It'll potentially be a wing mirror and front faring winglet (or whatever you want to call them) removal to stick it back on and reuse them. The Puig screen I fitted only used the top four bungs and had a small lip at the bottom.
fitting a new screen , but I didn't want to start pushing and pulling and end up snapping summat , lol , I took the main screws out and seen there was 2 rubber lugs at the lower end and didn't want to start pulling and pushing and snapping a lug etc.
Thanks guys. Convinces me to leave my screen on the new one 'as is'. Perhaps I should say 'alleged' screen. Does it actually DO anything?
The bottom lugs will pull through fairly easily, just be careful as I noticed a wire running around and very close to the bottom of the screen on mine. Getting the original back on will be more painful, as you have to push the bungs back through from the top. So that means getting in between the fairing with fingers or something to push them back through with enough force. What screen have you gone for?
The original isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but as a daily ride it needed to be bigger for me.
My local dealer. £40. They initially said that there was no way I could get one. A bit of pushing and banter, a month's wait and hey presto one turned up.
