As discussed in another thread, poll to determine price acceptance.

Thanks for this , though options 3 and 4 do open up the thoughts on members for what would be more acceptable they are not actual options at the dealers o_O

Oh for sure, I know for me though that if thise prices were similar, I would consider it for sure! But currently, not a chance.

Isn't the SP £23,499 rather than 25k? Can you edit the poll?

At least you folks have a price. We had to commit with Price TBD.
I am not so sure really, here the prices floated are all way above the M S1000RR, a new V4 or even a gently used V4S.
Its way past R1M prices already. And what about the inevitable 'upgrade' - a future SP2 if a homologation tweak is required to stay WSBK competitive? What wudl that do to those of us with an SC82 SP in hand?

Overpriced for me. Don't dislike the look of the bike or the cramped riding position, just think its not special enough to warrant the price.

Better more preferred options out there for me ..

But who would consider the Ducati Panigale V2 at £15,000? (assuming they could afford to spend£15k on a bike)

As much as I'm a Ducasti, it will have gremlins poor paint, rubbing parts on fairings, also the fairing clips break just looking at them and without doubt other glitches.. I love em tho !!

Took my mates V4s for a spin in Spain, could actually see me getting one if it were not for the fact his had faults aswell as my 1299.
It was certainly different than the 1299, it needed to be revved .. where as the 1299 had low down torque which was brutal, .

If I had a choice 1299 would win everyday.

Those prices pretty much assure my bike is the first and last brand new Fireblade I'll own for the foreseeable. As such this makes it a keeper. No doubt the new one will be a total weapon on track, but it didn't feel special enough for me to justify that price tag. Think the outgoing SP looks and feels better quality. Don't see the prices being as much of an issue for the PCP brigade....that's not for me though.

There's nothing stopping you taking out the PCP to get the deposit contributions etc and then paying it off in full. Don't think they necessarily have early repayment penalties etc.

You're right though Nigel, PCP is what's pushed and incentivised. The cash buyer has to do the usual haggling.

In all this chat about how expensive the new blade is, I think it's important to frame it in the context of the new generation of specific euro5 bikes. In much the same way that an F-16 is a 4th generation fighter jet, the R1 is a (euro)4th generation bike. The F22 Raptor is the equivalent of the blade and it sits in that 5th generation space. Bit of a stretched metaphor but hopefully you get where I'm coming from.

When other manufacturers start bringing out their next gen bikes I think you'll see a lot of the pricing ending up £20k+ and this won't seem so much after all in comparison.

Yes the new S1000RR is euro5 and much less, but you can't actually buy one (or get one delivered). So the comparison is moot really.

Better to compare against the V4S with whom it has a similar power output and in that space it's not unreasonable.

    Don't forget 2020 R1M £22k / R1 £17k are euro5

Triumph have made euro 5 changes to the Street Triple RS without any increase in price.
