    Hi,

Bit of a problem with my 929 fireblade.

This was a bit of a melon when I bought it. I'm not a mechanic by a long chalk. Anyhow it's something I will make right as I love riding it. It's my only mode of transport. So I need this fella to be reliable.

Here's what I've done so far......

    New stator
    New rectifier
    New plugs
    New air box
    New K&N filter
    New radiator
    New fuel filter
    Newish coils

Been a bit of a shit experience so far. Lots of no starts and RAC rescues.

So this one has got me flummoxed. When warm the bike starts fine. When its cold it just refuses to start. The engine turns over fast. But doesn't fire up. It bumps, fires up then no problem. there is a smell of fuel but not heavy. This has only just started with the cold weather kicking in.

I know that when starting from cold. Don't touch the throttle. Let the engine fire then blip the throttle. With this in mind I'm wondering if this may be a pointer to whats going wrong. The choke is flooding the engine. So it won't fire. Or is there a sensor that may need changing.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

could it be compression issues? Did you try different HT leads?
