Akro downpipe cleaning

    evening , I got home tonight after a bit of a blast I was nearly home and I could smell burning , got home had a look round bike and found this on the downpipes and haven't a clue what it is ? ive tried a few things to clean off and it wont touch them , any ideas because they look shit , thanks for any info. 20160520_191015.jpg 20160520_191005.jpg 20160520_191040.jpg

    hi buddy, i use a wire brush along with solvent cleaner brings them up immaculate, also the wire brushes you can put in the end of a drill works much faster !

    what solvent cleaner ? that's for your advise.

    I just used a cheap one from b&q buddy not sure of the name any should be fine that's what I used

    thanks , it looks as though something has come off the road and melted on the pipes , ill have a look.

    I don't know what they are it was on the bike when I got it , how do I find what they are . thanks.

    That's going to take some shifting.. Wire brush in the drill will work and be the quickest option. Removed some similar shite from mine last week! If they are genuine akro headers will be titanium, standards are steel, wire brush will work on either. Finish the clean up with autosol, but be careful you may make a clean spot :)

    thanks mate but did you remove them or did them on your bike ? what wire brush steel or brass ? clean spot ?
