Nice pics. Did u manage to get dry weather on all four days? I'd be interested to get your thoughts on the circuit as this would be one of my potentials for next year.
Almeria is the driest circuit in Europe as it's fairly high up in the andalucian mountains, can get a bit windy, and mornings tend to be a bit chilly but other than that,it's a good 'un
Well worth doing. Stayed completely dry until the last session on the last day but by then you're nackered anyway. It's a very fast and very physical circuit but extremely rewarding when you get some good laps in. Grip level is superb, but can be hard on tyres. It's a bit chilly early morning this time of year but the track warms up very quick. There's a couple of blind corners which make for some interesting lines but I really enjoyed it. The back straight is very long which is great as it leads you into a great right hander then into a fast left hander onto the start finish straight. Definitely put it on your calendar to do.
Thanks for the info gents. I really like the look of Almeria and it seems to be good value for money, having the four days on circuit. I think Jerez would be another one on my to do list. I suppose you can't go wrong with any of the tracks really what with the pretty much guaranteed Spanish weather. Out of interest whereabouts do they accommodate you when you do Almeria, am I right in thinking it's at Mojacar?
Yeah, hotel is in mojacar. Nice hotel, service is good. You can't go wrong for the price of the package. We're gonna do jerez in march and alcarra in October. Good excuse to get away from English weather.
no, first time at jerez and alcarra. the one i'm really excited about is alcarra, looks amazing and left handed circuit which will be good
I was looking at that last week, watching a few onboards to see what it was like and yeah it looked good, especially the big down hill left. Post up when you get back from them both and let us know what you thought of the circuits/facilities/accommodation etc.
I can tell you about jerez if you like.? it's great (theres another thread going somewhere,go have a look, gives a bit of info on the tracks I've done in spain.)
depends who with.i only use no limits and tracksense, not used FE for a good few years. NL use, errr I cant remember, will check when I get home and let you know, but it's very nice, got a nice big pool area for the wife if she goes,or even just to relax after the trackday.good thing about jerez is they run from 10-6 with no lunch,so get loads of tracktime
Something to look forward to though. When the weather starts turning shit in the U.K you'll be in the sunshine.
