Yes it’s mine, a completely different ball game you soon realise they don’t stop ha ha buying a few bikes as an investment it will only get the odd ride out to a local bike meet or for a brew

Congrats. Great bike in their day, and making somewhat of a resurgence now.

I took my NS of SORN last Saturday (1st Sept.) to give it a run. Billows of smoke on start-up, but like the RD, a fun bike and of similar investment value.

True, Paul. They can be a lot of money to be lying around, but kept well, most of these classics will hold value.

In strict financial terms, after factoring in insurance, road tax when applicable, and maintenance costs, we're not going to see huge (or any) profits. However, we have the joy and pride of ownership and a means of faring better than abysmal bank interest rates.

Do you know if it is a 'Rothmans' one or red/white and blue?

I wanted an LC as well, but really didn't trust myself with one !

Bought a brand new Honda CB250 RS Deluxe instead like this :

Wow. You've come a long way since that!! A great 'starter' bike though, and a more modern version of the CB175 on which I started. Great days of nerves and flutters and believing we could really ride, when in actual fact we were just crap! (Speaking of myself here)

    Tear-arsing around !:D

That Deluxe version had an electric start as well, where as the two strokes were kick start if I remember - bikes likes the X7. The Yamaha LC was a cut above the X7, being water cooled.

A mate I know has just sold an LC. It sold very quickly. He said that he had to fix a fuel leak. Something about the seam of the fuel tank, the bottom edge I think it was - the paint blistered up a bit and somehow the seam was leaking a bit of fuel. He had it sorted and painted again, and everything ok.
