They can do, but they don't recommend it as you're normally mentally wiped after the sessions on the 600s.

They also will only let you book it on the day, so it depends if there are spaces free

That's a shame - would be up there like a shot if they could do both on the same day. Think they're missing a trick there.

Have fun. Am sat down the road in Derby and it's currently dry with a bit over overcast cloud, but it's quite bright out there. Hope it holds out for you.

OK fellas; a brief report (man of few words me)

Very very lucky with the weather

Just a bit of background, my son & I did this together; mostly as a cool way to spend time together. I have a bit of track experience but have moved away from all that now; my lad has been riding around 18 months & it was his first time on track.

The venue & branding is very high quality, the staff very friendly & the organisation very well put together; you just turn up & jump on the "conveyor".

We used our own kit but many others used what the school provides; it looked fine other that the odd scuff here & there.

The format was a classroom brief; mostly safety & aims of the day (This is all light hearted & they do there best to make you relax).

We were then introduced to an instructor who would escort us around the track; he asked if there was anything in particular we wanted to learn & asked about past experience with bikes etc.

We completed 3 track seesions of around 20 mins each & spent the in-between time with our instructor chatting about bikes in general.

They have another classroom session before the last track session to talk about problem areas or whatever comes up; again light hearted banter for the most part.

My lad really enjoyed his time on the track & I think this school is a great way to get a feel for riding in the track environment; I enjoyed it too, but found the riding a bit steady.

You follow the instructor at all times on the track; he is watching you in his mirrors or looking behind. There a lots of bikes on the track at the same time & the overtaking is strictly controlled by the instructors.

Thats it I suppose; please ask if you want to know anything else.

    Some pics:

This is the certificate they give you.

This is my lad with our instructor (Talyor McKenzie)

This is a pic I like as it has both Ant & I

This is the award they give out at the end; Ant & I scored joint first place with 95% (Only a bit of fun).

Yes Martin, most definatley; its a great experience.

But, time is limited, so if you are hungry to learn about technique & want time to practice, be given quality feedback etc, think about the CSS instead.

Could be up for this mate, always liked the idea of doing it.

Also been looking at the taster sessions at brands.

Did this never get up and running then? If not for work commitments abroad I'd definitely have been up for this.

Can't get enough people for a decent discount mate :(
I will be doing it myself in the next few weeks at full price though, my nan (who hates me on bikes) gave me money for it for my birthday and said although she hates the thought of it she knows its something I would really love too do and to make sure I do it which was nice :)

Give us a write up afterwards Martin and tell us what you thought of it. I'm not sure much has changed in the last few years since I did it but I do know you'll have a blast :)

Will do mate, will be my first track experience so nothing to compare too but should be a good write up for people who are in a similar situation to me
