Totally agree with everyone's comments about just doing your own thing fella! Riding is for pleasure and I know everyone has their own version of pleasure but it is never selfish to ride at a speed and style that you enjoy. Things inevitably go wrong when people ride outside of that zone....

I'm a fast rider but enjoy riding slow just as much as I just love riding. I have nothing to prove so if I was there mate I'd have cruised along with you enjoying the scenery and riding. Pretty much what I did on out ride out to the coast earlier this summer. I sat in the middle mostly trying to keep the fast and slow riders connected as best as possible. I still had an awesome time and even managed to do 160miles before the reserve light came on so well chuffed! :D

So if you are ever in my area I am always happy for a fun chilled ride with any forum member, well other than Jimbo...... I just wanna see him on track! :D

You raise a good point Navs, but I live in Devon, where even the airport runways would make Ewan and Charley shit a brick, so they're everywhere around here. You'd probably need to be in Kensington to see more off road bikes.

I suggested South West Highways used the potholes as planters. At least we'd stand a chance of winning Britain in Bloom.

My answer to the thread question is ..... 'Yes they are' simples !!

Don't do anything unless you do it with confidence and if as mates they can't respect you for wanting to tone it down a bit I would suggest they are not worthy of your matehood !!

talking about riding on the wrong side of the road, 5 of us out last year with a cop from Liverpool, (me back bike as usual) christ his sighting lines frightened me to death, spent more time over the white line than driving on the left, we were chatting on a bit quick,) but he didnt know the roads, we did.

He may not have known the roads, but if he got the view its all that matters.
He would have been scanning for info far ahead etc.
