I bought a 09 blade over a year back (my brother had it few years before this) The shocks had some road rash on there - on the golden part - guessing its been down maybe on the track and went for a slide.. Shocks are straight and its only visual...and only apparent if you look... Having bought some brand new shocks to renew the look of my bike..as it put away for the year... Are the old shocks work anything?
fair point..hoping maybe £150ish ...as they may come in use for someone who manages to drop and bend there ones.. saying that the rash is not bad if i remember...so will get pictures up when i get them off.. it was just bugging me
Hi repsolsam im after some forks... and can pick up pay cash this weekend if you london way! You say they been down the road, can you guarantee they straight mate?
Hi I have not been down the road, one of the previous owners had...forks are straight as me and my brother before me have been riding the bike for over 2 years.. This weekend not possible...as they are still on the bike..
Really not trying to put a downer on this, chances are they are straight, but just cos they are on the bike and it feels ok when ridden, doesn't mean they are straight. Jase was racing on a bent fork and you couldn't tell. My advice would be to get them checked before you offer them as straight. Jase replacements he bought were also 'straight' - turns out they wasn't and it'll only end in tears for someone. Moto line in Kent will check em for not a lot of money just to be sure.... Unless there is an easy way to self check?
Naa, fair point..I got no way to check...wouldn't even know how to.. Going to Kent and back will cost me money + price of checking..i would then add this to the selling price I guess. Will look into this once I get them off the bike maybe if they don't sell - as maybe the buyer has a way of checking..and wants cheap forks..
Sorry dude, really not trying to ruin your sale - more than likely straight mate and I think you can prob tell by eye / rolling etc once off.... someone mechanical will help advise i'm sure. My point was that just because they are on the bike, you can never be sure. like you say, the rash will reflect in the price anyway and therefore reduce the risk of any issue around the sale no doubt..
