WTF? Why would a guy do women's work for one hour let alone 100? (Think I'd best leave the building for the night)
Well having never met a squaddie who would trust his wife with ironing I think you may be mistaken about it being a woman's job
I agree....my ex hubby was ace at ironing! I just end up with all weird burnt bits stuck to it In fact I hardly iron anything these days....I mean has anyone ever died from having creased clothes I think not
Ah, of course. Totally agree. Service men (and women) take unparalleled pride in their creases and folds! And this would mean, of course, that Mr @Spygoat has the potential to bring a personal collection of designer irons to London!!
Who are they cheating? They're only competing against a set of rules that the rest of the people trying to set that record are competing against. Everyone knows they aren't pedalling the bike to 150mph+. The challenge is mostly technical and gumpshen related, pure power isn't the main factor. I'm sure there are a separate set of people trying to set a record without drafting. Overall its a slightly weird and a little bit pointless WR but not cheating. And just to contradict myself.... what she did have that I don't remember Guy having was the bump bar so she could brush off the back of the vehicle. That to me seems to remove a lot of the skill.
I have full respect for the technology and ability required for this record, BUT, my respectful view is that they are cheating the very concept of cycling as a human-powered activity. This record attempt would not be available to the general cycling enthusiast because of the high degree of necessary support and sponsorship . A bicycle land speed record should be made unaided by two passes over a flat surface of, say, 1 mile.
It's a motor paced record. That's just the way it is. There are un-paced categories. It's not cheating, merely a different (some might argue pointless) category.
Lol I only posted it because I thought wow fancy holding onto a little bicycle at those speeds given how it feels on a sportsbike (I still think Simon & Nige are just miffed because it was a woman)
' Bloody women....riding bicycle's at silly speeds! No wonder me dinners always late on the table....wadda yer reckon Nige me old cobber?'
This is just another random WR in a world full of random WRs. I cycle a fair bit and drafting is good fun and essentially part of cycling. Not a record for the cycling purists which Nige and Simon may well be, but it's not cheating. They'd have to be cheating someone for it to be cheating
Not the case, in fact I didn't even know it was a woman until you said lol, I saw the pic, read the speed and went straight off on one...
