Despite best endeavors I'm not going to get the pipe through Castle Combe's uber rigid sound testing so up for sale so I can get something a little quieter. The build quality is spot on and it's only a fraction of the weight of the OE pipe. Sounds great but a little too loud for Castle Combe, though it will pass "normal" track day testing. Made from Inconel so cools really quickly to hand touch in a couple of minutes. It's basically as new with ZERO miles on it. Its done a sound test at Castle Combe (taken by trailer) and three or four runs in the garage. Includes the pipe (probably the easiest pipe I have ever fitted), two baffles and two link pipe inserts depending on how quiet you want it. List price would be £870.00 including the additional baffles. Looking for £670.00 for what is basically a brand new pipe. Cheers Simon
Kingfixer kindly leant me his db meter so will give it a proper test tomorrow. AR claim 102 - 103db at 5500rpm.
Yes but I don't think there is anything I could do to get it passed at Castle Doom. I am sure it would be fine at most other tracks but it seems daft having a track so close that I can't use.....
Castle Doom static test at 3/4 max revs so for a blade that's 9750rpm and it was 116db. This is almost double the rpm used at ALL other track static tests. I was so pissed off I forgot to ask them if they would do a 5500rpm test. Obviously the db at 5500rpm is going to be significantly lower. I'm going to check tomorrow.
Ran a quick test today......all at 5500rpm and 0.5m 103db with the squashed baffle 104db with the standard baffle 108db with no baffle Also have a 35mm insert for the link pipe but haven't tried that.
that pip looks awesome! Is it this one? http://www.austinracing.info/mall/p...789/CBR1000RR 2008-2015 & SP GP1 DE CAT
That's the one - though they have added a slight design kink where the end can joins the pipe - looks much better than the AR website.
Would you consider £500? (not eve sure why i am making an offer, still recovering from a broken leg ;-)
[QUOTE="RepsolSam, post: 370764, member: 2426" still recovering from a broken leg ;-)[/QUOTE] Ouch - well I paid £870 only a couple of weeks ago so its as new so I was hoping for a little more to be honest. Hope you heal up soon.
