Which one are you using guys and why? Ok, they do the same job pretty much, but when you look a little harder at both units the Bazzaz can do a lot more than the PCV. (Seems like the PCV is more popular in the UK, Bazzaz is very popular in the USA). I had a good hard look at both and decided to go for the Bazzaz unit for the reasons listed below. - Connects to all 8 injectors, rather than 4 on the PCV and ease of switching between the 2 maps without buying more hardware. - More increments to be tuned on the rpm/throttle position field. - Control upper injectors INDEPENDENTLY of the lowers - More resolution (every 250rpm vs 500) - More throttle position columns (this can be altered at riders request) - Throttle position is less for pcv(20 40 60) vz bazzaz(20 30 40 50 60) Interested to hear your opinions on this.
Not too sure what your expecting for answers here dude as most folks in the uk choose Power Commander(PC) as its more recognised and more uk tuners are familiar with running it on a dyno so easier to get a custom map done. As well as being more available to find and purchase both new and second hand pc units. As for your other list of differences some are not quite correct. The PCV & older PC3 can map in 250rpm increments. The ability to change maps can be done cheaply by adding any single or double throw switch. The upper injectors can be adjusted with another module if really required but apparently very little gain was found to be had in adjusting the upper injectors unless major engine work had been carried out. Price difference is prob one of the biggest attractions along with the easier ability to get access to a tuner willing to deal with the PC lineup. Both units have similar additional modules and accessories avail for them except for the bazazz's traction control system. Don't get me wrong if you want to make use of all the features and additions the power commander lineup has to offer the bazzaz's more compact single box of tricks is attractive rather than the PC's multiple boxes of electronics that need to be connected & concealed somewhere on spare space limited sportsbikes.
I use Bazzaz. It's good fuel control. Quick shifter is good but now not as good as the rest. But if it's your first Ul love it. The traction. Yea it's good it will help. It's not amazing but it could help. Think it's a fair system for the price.
Shiny side up. thanks for the informative feedback, its appreciated. But I do have a few issues with your reply. I did mention that extra hardware was needed to switch between maps (So I wasn't wrong on that point). Again the upper injectors adjustment need more hardware. ( I was comparing the basic units, without add one). Agreed the upper injectors dont make much difference when above 3000rpm, so dont matter so much. As for price, I paid less than 200 pounds for my Bazzaz unit (from Biohazard cycles, USA). Not living in the UK now, so I wouldn't know the local prices. Anyone else here can add to this post?
These modules are quickly reaching the end of their day as the advent of direct ECU 'Flashing' coupled with the new wave of Blu Tooth interface modules make the PCV etc look positively archaic.
Can the blade be flashed? Also what the Bazza tc like on blade any good/pointless is it easy to set up ?
Standard Honda ECU's are very awkward to concur apparently so you'd need a Kit ECU for comprehensive Flashing. The Bazazz TC is quite agricultural but some owners seem happy enough at the price point it sells at.
ECU Flashing is rubbish. Its difficult and unless you spend 3-400 getting a custom flash you are wasting your money. Generic flashes that most offer are cheap for a reason. They dont do much. There will still be a place for PCV BAZZAZ ETC for years to come. Its an industry tghat knows we spend money on our bikes because we love to. Someone said about the upper injectors and 3000 rpm. You are 110% WRONG. Secondary throttles generally come in above 10,000 rpm and pretty much control the fuelling above that point. The reason is the lower injectors are far too low down and the air velocity is so high that the fuel will not atomise properly and becomes a squirt. The upper injectors are much higher up and provide much more fuel efficiency as well as extra fuel. two nozzles fuelling means smaller nozzles and more efficient fuel. So a system that controls both will be better than a system that controls one. I use Bazzaz because the auto tune is better. I am selling a full Bazzaz Z-Fi TC QS system with the new push/pull shifter with autotune and T?C MAP switch and TC active light. £625 for the whole kit.
