hi everyone. Been looking at exhausts and I can’t decide what one to go for when I take the plunge. As you’re all super helpful I thought I’d ask what others have got or would recommend. As always pictures or sound clips are helpful. Cheers

I have made my point on this before, and am sure it's not what you want to hear.:(

The 04 -07 standard exhaust is a unique feature of your bike. Too many are spoilt by end cans that are too large or poke out far too much from the rear. If at all possible, try to keep as close to standard as possible - or, DON't change it. However, if you are so inclined this product might be of interest:

I agree Nigel. Want to keep it as close to standard as possible and don’t want it to massively overhang the rear end. That is a nice pipe though

I've not seen your view on the exhaust before, but am inclined to agree.
For that reason I chopped the baffle out of mine an carbon wrapped the plastics.

That’s a work of art John. How far out of the tail does it hang? Similar to stock?

Took a while to find the photos, but you can see where I cut all the way around the original weld line. The baffle is basically just a metal plate, which I cut a big section out of once the box was accessible.

This is the rear section with the 2 exhaust pipes.

This is the section which clamps to the middle pipe.

Both halves were then seam welded back together. It's been like for a few years now and I have no plans to change it as I'm happy with the look & sound.

That’s awesome! Might look into it. More noise but keeps the stock look. Love it

Can't seem to find a finished photo at the moment, but I must have one somewhere.
As nigelrb has said, this is one of the exhausts that does stick out further than the original.

I've got this one one mine. It's a JTI imported from america. The bike originally came with an arrow can, but fancied something a bit different. I think this one looks a lot better and flows with the lines of the rear. Also sounds bloody lovely. But I'm just biased.

This is what was on it...

Yeah was expensive. Before I ordered it, I worked out all the shipping and customs costs, so I didn't get a nasty shock when it turned up, lol.

That's the price we pay for exclusivity.

Some will say it's a waste of money; for us it is a precious enhancement to our machine!
