Won't fit a 08 without some messing about which I couldn't be arsed to do. Come off a cbr 600 rr £275 please
Mmmm as I said there, Thinking of doing a mod to the rad to cool the bike a bit better. Might think about getting this if it fits a an 05 blade. Ps how big/heavy is this bad boy.....
It's for a 6 so I'm not sure but I'd say with a bit of re jiggin here and there it will work a treat. I'm not actually sure of the make. Can get a pic of the other side if u like but sort of looks the same lol
anything can be made to fit, just depends how good you are with fabricating things,or how much you want to pay someone.
Ok did some homework. Ok ALOT of homework and found out that even if I did buy this and made it fit, I would then have to remove the thermostat on the bike (and by another kit with block off washers) because there will be chance that with the big rad, bike will get to operating temperature but stat will open and dump cold fluid to the engine. I say this because the bike this will be going on is a road bike only occasionally used on the track (rather than reverse) and I wasn't prepared to run it without a fan so...... That kills that idea. Anyway please get in touch about what I need to do to get those fans off you. Or even just the smaller one. Thanks & GLWS
eh? thats what all rads do,the water circulating around the engine gets upto temp (approx 75c),then the thermostat opens up the full system, bringing in colder water from the rad.not sure what you mean by dumping coldwater into the engine?
I suppose it wasn't very clear but I meant because it's a bigger rad it takes away too much. As in the engine ends up running too cold. Make sense?
If you remove the thermostat you have to use the HRC water hose plug kit to blank off one of the hoses going from the 'stat to the pump. Also you have to place a big **** off washer (part of the kit) in place of the 'stat inside the housing. when you run a big rad AND a thermostat, you run the risk of getting up to temp and having ice cold water in the rad so when the thermostat opens it floods the engine with cold water. with a big rad you are better off dumping the stat, and using duck tape to regulate the temp, and keeping notes of ambient temp, and adding/removing bands of tape to hold the engine heat where you want it. But that's obviously for a race bike only.
Iv removed the inners of my thermostat. Best I look into the block off line ? No prob about the rad. Il send the fans no prob mate. U might as well have both if u would like both
ok mate,i have quite a good understanding of how the rad system works, what a bigger rad does etc.i'm assuming your just copying what you've read/someone told you? you don't need a HRC blanking kit,it's easy to blank off the water pump,in fact I have 1 sat in my spares box off my old blade, the thermostat is a little trickier to blank off,but quite easy.as far as dumping "ice cold" water into the engine........you make sound like it's dumping 1000's of gallons of water into the engine.it's a few litres, and would take a few mins to even the temp, prob less if your actually riding it.as for gaffer taping your bikes rad,yes I know people do it,but veryvery rarely now,and it's usually on the smaller bikes, not thou's.
Yes I was explain what I had read/someone told me. For the record I wasnt questioning your knowledge. I'm trying to find out as much as I can before committing to something that might not suit my need. So not sure why you are apologising considering the fact that I'm about to buy the thing. Anyway so what you are saying is if I get the unit I won't need to take the stat out at all? Should I fit the fan onto it as well for a similar to stock set up but with just a bigger rad?
I don't mind I'd rather u bought something u was happy with. I didn't bother so can't expect u too lol Pm sent for fans While we on the subject I haven't blocked off my return pipe I think it is but I have taken my inners of the thermostat out. I though that would work ok ?
