https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1782439625/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_i_4sb1EbYWGPRNH What a read this is, only a few chapters in but it really is very good indeed. Believe the hype! I would like to pass it on to someone here but I've already lost count of the people I've promised to lend it to.
I'll see what I can do mate, you know how it is with books though. They sometimes never make it home.
, Bought the book when Charlie posted this, and like most I buy, unless it’s full of pictures it just sat on the side, picked it up this lockdown, and holy moly, couldn’t put it down, what a story, it’s clear she’s a couple of years older than me, and back then my mates and me where riding to the Med and back and thinking we had conquered the world, I didn’t even know half these places existed then, let alone you could battle around them on a bike. Top girl and the fact it was nearly 40 years ago and the sub continent was even less developed than now, it makes it all the more enduring when you read it. The wife is a book worm and she can’t put it down now, and she’s travelled India etc, she said if she had read this first would have thought twice about going. Can highly recommend it if someone don’t know what to buy yer for Chrimbo.
Absolutely agree Someone lent it me and its a great story and very well written. Perfect book for a biker
@Lozzy Is currently penning her own similar version of this book about a lass who rides around the Peak District every day of her life covering the same amount of miles that would by now have taken her around the world, stopping at the same Cafe on her way! It's not very well written though.....in fact she comes across as a bit of a simpleton It's called 'The Lone Wench Rides Again'
Another biker book that I've just finished and absolutely loved was Steve Parrish's autobiography. He's such a wind up merchant, makes you so sad reading about all the fun they had knowing that you'd never get away with it all nowadays. Really honest of him when he talked about Suzi Perry aswell....he wasn't very nice to her at the beginning by all accounts.
