Blyton for bikes is back! Only for 3 days though. Booked Advanced through www.loosecannontracks.com For those who don't know it, got bought by Ginetta a few years ago, they spent a load of money on the track but only used it for cars. Now a bike track day company has bought some dates. Location is DN21 3PE
Hurrah .....it's bad enough @raphael managing to sneak thru border control occasionally without any more of you getting in oop here with your funny accents and jellied eel breath
That limit surprises me as there never used to be any limit at Blyton. As well as the bikes I also did a supercar thing there and they would have failed at that limit.
Some pics from Blyton today. Weather was lovely and due to only a small amount of bikes there they changed it to an open pit lane day Only one place really to view from so pics are all the same corner... Our very own Muffking... And Muffking's mates ( yes he really does have some) on their 500's I'd have taken more but due to being made to sit on the floor and severe dehydration from lack of tea being bought for me I was feeling a bit squiffy
Was the cafe not open? They used to do a mean bacon roll. BTW that corner is the one I managed to low side my rr7 on a few years ago.
Yep I had a bacon bap is was well tasty Yeah Gary mentioned that...he said there's still a bit of your syrup stuck in the fencing there
Ha ha, thanks Loz. I'd have brought an extra chair for you, but as Simon said, you never normally turn up Was a great day. First time I've done Blyton and Loose Cannons (the organiser) did a great job of managing the time. There was no noise testing, briefing didn't drag on, and as Lozzy said not enough people to warrant sessions so they ran it open pit. To top it all when the photographer found out that there were 6 of us together he offered the full days photos for £80. So more pics to follow when they arrive.
Not much run off there. I pushed my luck and ran up the raised yellow edging strip on the exit a few times, but only one other guy went over the top and took a detour in to the field
What did you think of Blyton? I liked it, not the fastest of tracks but quite varied with the turns they used to have.
I thought it was ok. It's got new tarmac all round, although the track is narrower than Cadwell. There's plenty of grip, but other than for the long straight it suits a smaller capacity bike which is why we had a hoot on the CB500's. The facilities are pretty decent except for the walk from the car park which was used as the paddock. We also found that there is power down the side of their metal shed, it's 200m across the grass but will take some long leads next time for the tyre warmers.
They didn't put the chicanes in for the back straight and the long sweeping left hander, makes it seem much faster.
The organiser said that the first one would create too much of a risk of high sides when setting off and removing the one on the straight meant that the big bikes could actually use their power. If going back on the CB I'd like to see both chicanes back in. Need to sort the front brake first though, it's binding when hot, which probably didn't help at Mallory.
