Hello everyone. My introduction would have to mention that I'm brand new to bikes & passed my test via Direct Access at the end of September last year. My love of bikes goes back many, many years however, due to family commitments, a career that saw me working away from home & a total ignorance to what was required to get my full licence, it's taken me to the stage in my life to get my act together that most have said is a mid-life crisis. Well, I'm here now & I'm the proud owner of a Fireblade 2010. As well as learning to be a good rider, I'm really looking forward to learning all about the bike & what I can do to really make it mine. The first thing has to be a tail tidy though but, I'll look into that in due course. Many thanks in advance. Cesar
Welcome to the forum Cesar. As above never too late to get into biking. Advice wise I'd say the best sort would be to get yourself onto the like of a Ron Haslam Riding School day, to gain confidence and get used to what these bikes are capable of. Other than that just put the miles in, as the more miles you can pack in the more experience you will gain on the road.
Hello Cesar welcome to the forum, congrats on passing your test. Take your time to get used to your new Blade especially if your new to bikes and this is your first
Welcome to the forum, Cesar. Congratulations on passing your test. One more of us......one less of them
Welcome to the forum Cesar, what colour bike did you go for? There is plenty of good advice on here and just enjoy your bike.
Welcome Cesar. Good choice of name as well mate. Yeh get some pics of that machine up. The guys deserve to see it. You will, as said before, get loads of great advice in here.
Finally sussed out how to post an image. The bike is so, far bog standard but, I do like this tail tidy that I saw on here a while back:
Welcome Cesar, Nice bike and good colour choice too. I passed my test 2 years ago after an almost 30 year break from riding a moped and then a 125 and if I had a £1 for every time someone has accused me of having a mid-life crisis (I'm 48) I'd be a very wealthy man by now The best advice I could give is to repeat that given earlier by Colinbr. Remember what you've been taught, take your time and get to know your machine (it's a big step up from the 45bhp bike you probably learn't to ride on) ride within your limits and practise, practise, practise. The more experience you get the better rider you'll become and the more you'll enjoy the riding experience. Enjoy and be safe.
Thanks everyone for the very hospitable welcome. I knew nothing about riding along & every biker giving you a wee nod. It seems like there's been a whole pleasant world out there I've been missing for over 40 years. And the comments are very welcome too - a bit different from 'you're mad!' or 'mid-life crisis?'
It's a stunning looking bike mate. Hopefully join you for a run sometime. What kind of tail tidy is that ? Doesn't look too different to the ones I have fitted before either. Let me know if you want a hand. And oh aye, the nodding. Wait until you discover the non nodding snobs. The folk who don't nod learners, the cruisers that don't nod sports bikes etc. I nod everyone, even road quads. Lol.
