well what a great day, weather spot on, none of my mates crashed, even flymo managed to keep off the grass for once.
my mate put some new forks in his r1 before he went , dead slow first couple of times out but he paid for the suspension guy to set them up for him, you could see his speed increasing as the bike got set up better.
I got to my limit, speed wise , couldnt go any faster , so i enlisted one of the instructors to help.
he was on a cb500 racer bike which did about 100 mph on the straights . he showed me how late you can brake for a corner ,i am sure he didnt hit the brakes until the 100m marker, then just piled around the corner.
it definatly made me go around certain corners a lot faster than i had dared before. well worth doing if you go on a track day.

Mate was there on his new R1 and also said it was poss. the best track day he had done - just took an hour for the numbers on track to settle down but was then a fantastic day

Weather must have also helped mind! Cadwell will change to make it wider / safer so good to enjoy it in its current form while you can - the character will change loads

the track got very quiet as the day went on , in the afternoon i got loads of laps in without seeing another bike on the same part of the track as me.
i wore out my rear slick but found some part worn ones with tons of life in them for £40 a pair, bargain.
For some reason they only seem to do open pitlanes at cadwell and snetterton , pity as i would love a full day at oulton park.
