After a long relationship with Arai, Cal has made the switch to HJC for the coming season! Great choice Cal, although no doubt a large some of money swayed his decision. Seriously good quality lids these though, the Pro's can't be wrong.........say's it on his shirt!
Not even a Kylo Ren Rpha 11 (what Mika Kalio wears) ?? Ooh nice.....now that would suit my new bike! But I'll leave the matchy matchy to @nigelrb
Please delete that picture. I've been panting over that 'Chakri Red' for months and waiting for it to come down from 359 quid.
Went out in my new hjc rpha 11 yesterday for the first time ,very impressed , the first thing I noticed was the lightness of it , really good vevt system too . Going to get a dark visor for it . Crutchlow fan as well
Does no one remember what happened to Lorenzo? Every time it rain his visor steamed up. My mate had one and his blade fell over in his van and fell on it (not hard) and it split it and squashed it. Cal has been paid to wear One. I for one will not buy one
I remember it happening to Lorenzo but that's not the reason he left HJC, Same thing hapeened to Melandri with Nolan. And the same for Shane Byrne with Shoei! It happened and still does from time to time. Think design and technology and ventilation has moved on a lot now and more and more rider's are switching too HJC than leaving. Having said that.....money talks! All top level lids are safe though, So I don't believe any rider would put money over safety.
always buy the best hemet you can afford and of course the best fit not one your favourite ride wears . which years ago tried a few but always came back to arai
About 4 years used Shoei X-12 B-Boz colours. Now bought X-14. Great helmet and quality. Very satisfied.
That is about the best looking replica helmet available for a Honda enthusiast. They've always been dear (but obviously worth it) and I've just noted that Helmet City has an offer on them. I'm bloody tempted to break my New Year's resolution which was to curtail my spending! I also had one of the originals in 1984 to match my then VF750. http://www.helmetcity.co.uk/arai-rx...lbX5tiP1FoBLrTrbTaqNPA7xpFWk67iRoC_ZwQAvD_BwE
My wife had an original FS replica too. We sold it on eBay a few years ago as it really wasn't worth wearing anymore. It was horrible to wear by modern standards.
Well I hope HJC do as good a job of protecting Cal's bonce, as Arai have done ! Thought I would give HJC a try. The sizing seems a bit small, but if it is to be replaced it will be with the same but larger size. Just seems a bit tight on my XL bonce. I figured that the major helmet manufacturers must have the whole crashing thing sorted by now really - there cannot be any properly produced lids that aren't going to work at road speeds (plus a little extra margin !). So figured why not go for a bit of extra venting, or a modern design option ? ......and it looks nice !!
