Hi guys Does anybody no how to calibrate/reset the throttle position sensor on the power commander 5 I have the instructions but after googling a few forums have stated that these instructions are now out of date and the bike now needs to be running when doing this ?. The reason I need to reset calibrate is that the bike idles at about 1500 rpm which is way to high by about 500. I can get the calibration screen up on PC software just need an idiots guide on how to do it correctly tried ringing dynojet uk but still awaiting the call back I have included a few pictures of the calibration screen and the throttle open and fully closed Many thanks Brian
TPS CALIBRATION It is important that the PCV software TPS read 0% when the bike is fully warmed up and at idle. If it needs to be reset make sure the bike is fully warmed up before resetting. With the engine on, click on Reset, open throttle to the stop and close, then click OK. If your bike has fly-by-wire throttle only reset the throttle position on a dynamometer. this is off pcv instructions. You could download the pdf file if you search for it, might be updated from the one you have.
Might be wrong but never found it necessary to have the engine running whilst calibrating the tps, only the ignition. The TPS is active when the ignition is on, other bikes like Suzukis require the engine running. BTW you should run an ECU reset, it might lower your idle.
Found it slic is this it Disconnect battery Reconnect after at least 10min Start up the beast without touching the throttle Let to run until the fan kicks in turns off again flick the kill switch off then on again
Yes do it with the PCV fitted. ECU Reset I prefer to leave the battery disconnected over night, just to make sure
Just to clarify slic let if run till fans kick in turn off (with key ? ) flick kill switch in and off whilst ignition is off ?
Run the motor without touching the throttle. The temp will rise to 102 ish then the fan will turn on. It may rise a little more then fall below 100, the fan will then switch off. Kill the engine using the kill switch then switch back on immediately. Job done!
Ok tried the reset connected battery bike warmed up and was ticking over at about 1100 rpm this was before the reset did the reset started bike again and then was back to normal idling at 1500 anybody out there got any ideas ?
