ok between Maz and I we have owned 4 fireblades from a 10 plate to 65 plate, they have all ways been over serviced, well oil changed 3000 miles or so.
So after Honda have replaced Maz's CCT under warranty its four from four that have failed !!

couple of things how many of you have had theirs replaced ?
we have had them fail @
    8k on the '10,
    13k on the '12,
    15k on the other '12,
    and 3k on the '65.

If anyone has fitted a manual adjusting CCT how often have you needed to adjust it ?

Selling those springs since 10 years (+/-)
Just open oem tensioner , replace the spring
Available in two different models , for quite 80% modern honda bikes

There is a vibration/zinging noise from about 4000rpm gets worse after but usually exhaust or wind noise takes over above 5000rpm. Almost as if the fairing is loose. Maz has got a racefit exhaust ( kin loud ) and she felt/heard the noise.
If that's what you mean by issue ? But ultimately if left cam chain can slip/ jump teeth and that's goodbye engine internals !!

Wait till it's making a noise or vibing , just don't leave it too long before replacing cct

Anyone know how to diagnose it?

I've got a slight rattle after I've blipped the throttle - you can hear it as the revs come down... suspect exhaust baffle but did wonder if it could be CCT.

    2010, 27k miles

Worth noting this is in neutral when standing next to the bike. No vibration / buzzing when riding.

I have a RR-9 bike coming up to 8k miles on her

I might do this mod just to stop me worrying about it.

So which part do I need and is it quite easy to do?

    Cheers

Not sure on blade but 600rr was easy job, I just worried setting it up. But it was easy to do. I put mine on about 12000miles ago and a lot of track days and never had to adjust it after 1st set up
