Hello all Another noob here!. Been riding nakeds for the last several years, currently ride a CB1000R so I thought it was time to trade up a few extra Rs and get a Blade (probably a black/white 2010) My main use of the CBR will be commuting so ABS could be a very useful tool, I've had C-ABS on my CB (and my previous hornet) without any problems but I've read a few stories on here regarding c-abs failures, is this a common problem? Not that I grab the brakes or anything but it has saved my bacon on more than one occasion, where without I would be definitely kissing tarmac and thus would rather have the ABS version - any thoughts? Also is there a way to spot a Blade with excessive oil consumption, obviously I will avoiding anything the puff blue smoke. Look forward to joining as a new Blader very shortly, but until then you can find me London bound on the M4 on my CB (the black one with the carbon leo vince) Jon
Welcome jon. 1 tip to try and spot an oil burner is if the end of the exhaust is black. this is a good sign of oil being burnt. There is a cheap 2010 black and white model on ebay now, not sure if it has abs though
hi pal had no issues yet with the abs blade. only done 6 month with the blade but loved every min with it by the way welcome
Welcome aboard Jon. I have had my ABS from new in spring 2011 and have not had any issues with it. I also know for a fact it saved me from the possible after life this summer. I would not go back to a non ABS now.
Thanks for the warm welcome, I think it's ABS then!!. Just have to take the bling off my CB1KR and PEX it. Luckily the PCV and AT off my CB1KR are are also compatible the Blade, first mod sorted before I even get it Cant' freaking wait!
Greetings! Post some pics of your CB1000R... I bloody love them and am half toying with chopping my RR7 for one.
thanks mate, unfortunately the CB1KR doesn't normally get the praise it deserves, its a bit like Johan Blake having to live in the shadow of Usain Bolt!
