never done a track day...as a rider i Just about keep my head above water,(there's always some one quicker) i'd love to do one,do you have to do anything to the bike ?.... do have to have special leathers or helmet, whats the in's and out then.....mal
You still in the midlands over there Benn ?? lol Anyhow at least we ve got some interest and i agreee No limits seem the better, we got good track time with them at Mallory unlike Focussed who are quiet happy to cut short sessions and finish early (Mallory again) !!!!!!! i think No limits would be up for a cbr group booking...............should be a good day out
Just gotta cover up your mirrors & speedo (I remove my number plate as well). 1 piece leathers or 2 piece zip together kit & an ACU approved helmet. That's about it. You can come & potter around in the novice group with me mal.
Wear some water wings too if you like !!! lol there s bound to be some ego busting that day ! but i aint showing off i stick to novice group each time ! lol........but you soon get bitten by the bug ! its a real good day out providing its not wet ! you ll have a ball Mal............
The only things you must have are one piece or zip together leathers, an ACU lid and a full licence. In reality your lid won't be checked for an ACU sticker but I have seen people pulled up for dodgy looking leathers or gloves. It's strongly advised to fold / tape your mirrors and tape your speedo. You need to concentrate purely on whats in front of you, not whats behind you or what speed you are doing. If someone wants to overtake it's down to them to do it in a safe manner. No lifesavers going into bends ! Keep your vision up, look where you want to go. Same as the road really but you will be travelling faster and the lack of close by hedges, lamp posts etc. make it seem slower. Drop your tyre pressures, how much by really depends on lots of factors so it's hard to give a precise figure. As a novice I'd start off at 33 / 33 and see how it feels. All this will be covered in the briefing before you go on track. Take some water and snacks, bananas are good. Other than that relax and enjoy. Then sell the kids into slavery to pay for your new addiction.
I'd be interested depending on where it ends up being held, not that anywhere is going to be remotely close for me.
That Go cart track down your way might get a look in !!!!! lol move oop north a bit by about 300 miles then you ll have plenty of choice ! lol
If we make a weekend or two days midweek of it, there will be more time for travelling, riding and drinking.
Now there's a cool idea. 1000rr only trackday & a mag article......anyone know a bike journo that'd want to do a feature? Does Rob have a designated forum PR personage?
P.R.I.C.K lol Do you know how many riders you would need to fill a trackday? say 40 per group, 3 groups..... you might just scrape enough to fill one group. But then not everyone will want inters fast or novice.
