This shock is the HO1140 and has had the Ohlins recall as well as a full ohlins service. It has had the remote preload adjuster fitted making adjusting the preload much easier. The preload adjuster will bolt onto the subframe. As I said it has been fully serviced and comes with a full 6 month guarantee. Its condition is excellent with no major marks or any damage. Its fitted with a 11 spring which will suit 11 - 16 stone rider with leathers. If you are a bit over or under you will be able to wind on or off the preload accordingly but 11-16 is optimum.

If you ride hard the most significant upgrade you can make is by fitting a quality shock absorber. This is because it offers more consistent cooling and performance. Standard shocks work fine in normal road riding conditions. Start pushing them and things start to tail off. As the oil get hotter moving through the valves that determine the damping effect its viscosity decreases (the oil get thinner). It moves through the valving easier and get hotter still. The quicker the oil moves the less damping if attains. Its a vicious circle. It will start to offer very little damping and the back end is starting to bottom out. Once this happens you are at serious risk of a highside. One very common cause of a highside happens when the shock absorber is fully compressed. Suddenly all the energey is concentrated on your tyres contact patch. Prior to this point the shock was absorbing most of this energy. Your rear wheel spinns up and the natural reaction when the back end starts to slide is to shut off the throttle. Do this and the spinning wheel suddenly gets grip and the bike flips. Even the top riders can react in this way and highside.

This ohlins shock runs consistently cooler and will not overheat. It offers high and low speed compression and rebound damping so you can dial the shock into your particular style. I recommend getting professional setup help at a track. It will cost around £40 and the difference to the handling will be day and night.

I am asking £575 which is well below the average price for these shocks. Shipping to the UK is £10 and Europe £20. Rest of the world will be expensive due to the weight and will be £35.
