    Hi guys
I have a problem I bought a bike after side crash.
There were no fairings at all
I put new fairings and everything is ok except the temperature is high, when driving, it reaches 100'C
When I stop, I have to switch on the ignition to cool the engine.
What can be responsible for this?
    Thank Jack

I also have 2011. In this weather with stop/start journeys, it is not uncommon for the temp to reach 103. My fans come in at about 97 degrees.

Are your fans coming on? And does the temp drop then?
Does the temp drop once you're riding at, say, over 50 mph?
And the basic one - is your coolant level okay?

Yes fan come on about 101 and the temp drop to 98
The temperature does not drop by over 50 mph
Yes the coolant level is ok

Comparing, my friend has the same bike and keeps the lower temp

Have you checked the coolant? It may be more water than anything. I would say drain the radiator and replace it with engine ice or similar. Also, make sure the fluid is pumping through the system (water pump possibly?). Trapped air in the system can cause spikes in temp and a higher overall temp. Make sure there are no damaged fins on the radiator and if there are, get a fin straightener and have a go at it.

on the RR8 the first fan comes on at around 105~106. I have never had the second one come on (109 I think).

Once moving the temperature should drop to below 85. I have been riding when it was 30 deg; on the move above 40mph the temp never went above 80.
crawling traffic, hot weather, it went up & down between 105 and 95 while my bum was being sizzled.
I don't see how the fairing could affect this is the rad & oil cooler are not covered by it. Could you have disturbed something when changing the fairing?

    Huh? What's this. A resurrection?

I've been on here nearly a year and never seen a 'Si' appearance.

Ah, of course. Just back from the stable in Bethlehem!!:D:D

Mine runes at about 94c when belting around a track so gets a fair bit of air. Its Probably common for it to sit near 100 on hot day riding
