http://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport...el-5-announce-free-to-air-highlights-package/ Looks like channel 5 will be screening the MotoGP highlights this year
I saw that - good that it is on Monday so people will still be able to avoid finding out the results, until watching it on the Monday night. I suppose the racing still has some value as a product, even after the event, but probably looses value the further away you get from it being live. It is probably still beneficial for the sponsors and big names to have the biggest audience possible for their marketing and advertising. I thought the ITV coverage was a bit minimalist - showed the race and that was about it !
Can't stand highlights as it's so hard to miss out finding some result spoilers somewhere, so will stick with BT Sports live coverage
Fortunately for me nobody at work talks about the MotoGP, so it is easier to avoid finding out the results. I have gone for the online Video Pass with MotoGP, as you are paying them directly - a bit like buying a ticket to the race, rather than through another corporate. Anyway, a bit of interesting background to the TV rights situation : http://www.bikesportnews.com/news/n...a-sky-motogp-deal-could-cause-dorna-headaches
€140. I think I got it without the VAT ? I don't mind paying them - sort of cuts out the middle man, and get the service from them directly.
