Having a bit of a trouble removing the clutch centre nut on my RR-7.

I've tried un-staking the locking tab but I didn't have a fine enough screwdriver so it's pushed in more now if anything.

I don't want to remove the nut like this in case it damages the thread on the way off.

I could tap around it to raise / de-strengthen the lip but I don't want to hammer the surrounding area out too much in fear of damaging the crank.

    Any suggestions?

If the nut was removed with an impact gun and clutch holding tool would the staking tab be malleable enough not to damage the thread on the way off?

I would use a breaker bar rather than an impact gun, but as the tab is near the end of the thread it should not cause too much harm, the nut will be softer than the shaft.
I had the same problem on an R1 slipper clutch and just had to dress the last thread with a fine file.
