I am now building a man cave that should hold 6 bikes eventually what 6 bikes would other people choose just to look at and as an investment? Max spend of 8k per bike. My list but it could change Fs1e DX kenny roberts yellow Triumph street triple R round headlight model Suzuki gsxr 1000 K5 1998 R1 1992 cbr900rr Honda sp2 2003/2005
I'd also have to have a 94 Urban Tiger. It was the bike that convinced me to pass my test, wanted one; Oh and a 916 but it woiuld probably be a project bike for £8k these days; And whilst I'm at it at Honda RVF400;
"I'd also have to have a 94 Urban Tiger. It was the bike that convinced me to pass my test, wanted one;" This is what convinced me to pass my test, piece of s**t (that's not the actual one, mine died a horrible death many years ago)
Went and looked at a Kawasaki kr1-s lovely condition it’s up for 4K but no history of any sort, a lot of these were raced in its day it was 139mph 2 stroke. Was talking to the guy he had read somewhere that 2 strokes could be banned after 2022?? Emissions etc
Ha ha that Suzuki x1, I had to ride one of those home when I was 17 and my bike at the time an rd250 and my mate was 1 year younger and his dad won’t let him ride it back which was two days before his 16th birthday. It ended badly 3 weeks later he went straight on at a corner he was ok but bike wasn’t
Not sure I'll have too much agreement on this, but I believe one of the sweetest (as opposed to brutish) looking bikes is the MV Agusta F4. If I was flushed with a few extra quid, I'd buy one:
Yep, granted. This is a clear illustration of emotion clouding reality. I am Honda through and through, but this MV just grabs me, especially the four-pipe underseat exhaust. There are a couple of these on a For Sale site; 5 and a half for a 30,000 miler and 8 grand for a 6,000 with 5!!!!! owners! That shows significant depreciation, whereas the SP2 916 is worth as much now (in many cases) as its original cost. I will surely love to visit your 'cave' in a couple of years and see what's ACTUALLY in there!! Cheers.
That is why I mentioned the CB900F of the 1980's. A great looking bike from that muscle bike era. I read somewhere that originals are becoming rarer - and they are coming back into fashion or favour - prices are still doable and rising for good condition bikes. I have always liked the look of the CB900F, particularly in red. It would make my list - whatever the choice criteria ! Anyway, have fun with your choices !
