    Hi all,

    Will a 2012 aftermarket full exhaust system fit a 2008 model CBR1000RR?

I currently have a Akrapovic slip on and my mate is giving me his full Yoshimura exhaust system from a 2012 model.

I know the diameter sizes changed from the mid pipe but wanted to know if it's a straight bolt on from the block with a full system

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

As @tuktuk said, it will fit. You run into fitment issues when you go the slip-on route as some years have different diameter mid-pipes.

08 to 13 then the slip on type cans fit.
The header diamteter changes from 14 to 16.

As above, no issue with full systems from 08 t0 16

Update, has anyone attempted the same as mod as me? The exhaust system fits fine and it was only last night when I went to piece everything back together I was unable to fit the radiator back on. It turns out the radiator's bottom tab (at the back) touches the headers, and won't align with the bracket that connects to the block. By observing it carefully it should sit in between the gap of headers 2 & 3. I've loosen the header bolts and have made sure the headers are pushed right up to the top of the head too.

Not a big issue as I'll probably shave it back ever so slightly with a dremel tool, however I was curious to know if anyone else had encounter this issue? I guess it's also a heads up to anyone attempting the same mod

I think one of the track riders experienced that. Maybe @tuktuk or @Muffking . They'll probably respond to this.

Mine runs close to the headers as you describe buy my issue was slightly different in that using slightly bigger headers there is less clearance between the radiator and the headers. I ended up spacing the radiator out slightly but not as much as I'd like as the fairings are so tightly packed at the front that there isn't much room to make us of.

Get some pics up and someone may spot the issue :)

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

I ended up grinding it down with a dremel and managed to clear the radiator from touching the headers. My concern was piecing the fairings back together and not having it aligned. I don't have actual photos as I'm almost done putting her back together. Here's one for reference.

My phones gallery had shat itself but just managed to get these back from the cloud.

These are the akrapovic factory headers but will be similar.

They run so close to the rad and I had to space it out for the fan as the blades would have rubbed on the pipe. It's still only a few mm off but seems to have been ok, No melting or distortion etc.

Hahaha yeah. My OCD gets the best of me :D

Thanks for that. They look really nice. The yoshimura headers seem to stick out a bit further as the bends in 1 & 2 run parallel with 3 & 4. I should've taken a closer pic but I guess that'll have to wait for the time being.
