    Hi folks.
I very recently bought an '07 SC50 with a tiny coolant leak from the jacket. That's all fixed now, but while testing (with the fairing off) I noticed the coolant bottle (standard part, standard location) starting to melt due to its close proximity to the headers.
I'm wondering whether there should be a heat shield between it and the headers, or whether some other anomally is causing it.
I did have the idle turned up to about 2K and ran it until it reached ~100C on the gauge. Perhaps the high idle with no airflow was enough to do it.
    Comments/info would be very welcome.
    Thanks,
    Mike
