Hope you all have had a good Christmas, I am thinking of doing a De-cat on my rr4 and was just wondering if anyone had done this yet and what was the outcome they had for doing it.

Just done this to my RR7, as for the outcome...don't really know yet as it's not really the weather, though when I was blipping the throttle afterwards I got a nice blue flame out of the exhaust ;)

I just smashed the contents out using a hammer and long sharp screwdriver took a good belting to get the first hole through the honeycomb but once that was achieved it went fairly easy.
I took the headers off and put them on soft ground so the the pipes didn't suffer too much whilst I did the deed

Didn't realise they even had one? My 05 doesn't seem to have one anyway, well I can't see one and there are no sensors or wires coming off the exhaust and no place to put one either?

does removing the cat make much difference then? I don't remember the last MOT guy checking the emissions? so seems stupid having one?
will check mine again then, as going to give it a 16k service in the new year

Power wise I don't think it'll be much, but I'd think there will be a little better bark in the note under acceleration, and a much better crackle on the over run :)

Should give better throttle response and a bit more top end once custom mapped. I have a set of RR4 headers, with cat internals removed, for sale?

Removed the Cat many moons back and instantly noticed the exhaust note had changed (deeper) gases had speeded up. On the standard headers each pipe has a further restrictor welded just before the collector box pretty sure with that removed better performance can be obtained. Honda use a heavy gauge for their pipes on the 04-07 aftermarket systems use a lighter gauge which helps the exhaust pulses thus enhancing better engine performance.
