Not even done my 1st TD this year and already have booked Inters at Donington for Monday 26th of March through MSV
price seems better than No limits, or is it just because its earlier in the year? never done a TD in March before! although thinking of trying Europe next winter maybe?
Forgot to mention, there's 4 of us in Inters. The other guys have all bought faster bikes, so I'd better get my game face on
Hey. I'm there was a group of 6 from the Ducati forum (although only 1 Duc I think). It's 98db drive-by, not static. Not sure how loud that would be at static but I recon it's over 102db looking at there other days/tracks.
Had a blast today. Great weather and had a garage to ourselves as not many had booked to be on track with March weather generally being pretty poor. It was my first time on a bike this year, but I still managed to shave a second & a half off my times from last year. Picture of me from the back of one of the guys I was with.
Great going dropping a second and a half first up. Winter improvements to the bike maybe, or added confidence?
Largely confidence I reckon as apart from a new rear tyre all I've done to the bike is go down a tooth on the rear sprocket so I can carry more speed through the gears.
Quick question about Donington, how is the for a track day? I'm looking to head down South of the border this year to get some bigger tracks and looking to book Donington. Any info on the place would be appreciated
Really good. Plenty of garage space from what i spotted but we ran out of 3 pin sockets so needed the commando units. Loads of parking. Easy to get to/find. Excellent track, really interesting mix of corners, some blind, double apex, etc. Lots of people say in top 2 or 3 tracks.
I love Donington, can get a bit busy in warmer weather, but never not been been able to get a garage space by turning up early, free electricity for warmers and kettle, nice mix of fast corners, fast chicane and slow hairpin its a wide track so overtaking is a bit easier than some, plus on its NOISY days.... by baffle can come out, sounds awesome
:O Any idea how your clutch manged that?? I don't use warmers so power points aren't an issue for me. Think I will book up sometime in the next couple months once i change my exhaust, I think the Delkevic will be a little on the loud side and I'm not risking being turned away. Track looks mega.
As the others have said, a big track, plenty wide enough not to be in the way. I put a video together with picture in picture footage made from 2 bikes. The main screen is the rear view from my mates GSXR750 watching me as I followed him round for the 2nd session. The small picture in picture is from my Blade (black bike 69). It looks strange watching it back like this, but he wanted me to film his riding, so I took the opportunity to film me from the back of his bike while I got used to being back on a bike.
I knocked up one of these for that very reason. I'm ready for the next time all the blue ones have gone too
