Looked around the forum and cannot find this, so apologies if its there somewhere

2010 model, does the large black plastic cover come off without removal of the left hand side fairing and lower to expose the drive sprocket?

    Thanks in advance

No need to remove LHS fairing.

Just the gear lever linkage one retaining bolt on the LHS fairing and 2 (IIRC) on the shield that covers the ABS valves and LHS engine cover.

If I remember rightly the actual sprocket cover was a pig to remove, it's got a few wires routed into it which can make it really fiddly to remove/refit.

Yeah had mine off to go down one on the front Sprocket.

As stated no need to remove fairing, just gear linkage and a fiddle with the sprocket cover.

Loosening a couple of local fairing bolts helps massively in refitting the Sprock cover! ;)

Loosening the front sprocket is better done with the Bike in gear and on the deck if U have stands etc.
Another good option is to trap a length of softwood in the rear spokes

    Thanks matey.

Normally I just tie down the rear brake pedal, bike in gear and undo it that way.
