I purchased a brand new Tsubaki Sigma Gold x ring chain to go with my shiny new sprockets and very nice it is too but unlike my previous chains the farkin link is different!!... instead of the soft dimpled link the one I have the fcukin tool for! Now it's hard and flat! and the Whale riverter I need is fcukin £80 O.M.F.G why! oh! why! Do they change things!
I have now arsed a half pint of Drambuie so could give a toss at the mo but I'll be back to Mr Angry in the morning! ;)

Can I put a DID link on a Tsubaki chain? If I had a welding machine I swear I'd weld the fcuker right now

Please excuse my inebriated state :D

Blimey Trev it's only 8 o clock. Gonna be an early night for you then :D

Can you trailer it to your local garage and get them to nip the link up for you?

Or, get a clip type link (forgot what they are called) and ride it carefully to the garage.

Nah mate I phoned my local and he said use two hammers to slightly splay it and ride up and he rivet it for me I'm gonna try and get hold of a soft link for it! All the Tsubaki links I need are from the US with like £25 delivery I was wondering whether an other link a DID or Renthal would be ok on this chain but I Defo don't want a weak link :(

Was gonna get a tsubaki chain but might look at renthal now if it's gonna be easier to fit. When did they change the link? Had one a few years ago for my bandit and it had the hollow link pin I got a tool for.

I always used two hammers on my 630 chain on my Pro Stock dragbike, never had a problem.

Had the same thing when I got my Tsubaki. Only have a DID type riveter than would have been ruined if used on this chain.

Also used 2 hammers, sledge behind the chain and a ball pein to peen. I was also told a centre punch at 12,3,6 and 9 o'clock does the job too.

done 20K+ in all weathers on this chain and chain is still good!
