Fogging oil

This is normally recommended for long term storage treatment of the engine

has anyone used it and what is it’s thickness compared to regular maintenance spray such as wd40, gt85and duck oil?

How long are you leaving it?

I just use ACF50 either spayed on and wiped off with rag, or simply wiped on with said rag.

 

Do you spray it Inside the engine too??

But then who sprays WD40 inside their engine?

 

Fogging oil is sprayed inside the engine generally for storage.

I was curious as to what makes it suitable for this. Maybe thickness or ???

 

Haha, I suppose I should have asked what fogging oil actually is

Anyway, a few years back my neighbour was laying up his old Lotus (an old ‘60s model) and he told me the best thing to do was pour a few drops of oil down the spark plug holes and crank it over a few times. No idea if this is a good, bad or stupid thing to do

 

It’s not a bad thing to do and bung the exhaust and air cleaner up, stops moisture getting in through any open valves and rusting anything.
