We've tried this a few times and always been a nightmare, prob is too many folk want diff dates and tracks for travel etc... And nothing gets sorted Well this year I'm going to try and do it a little different, quite a few racing, touring, or being busy etc so going to pick a track, a date and stick with it!! Never done silverstone and always wanted, not racing there this year, and it's fairly central so why not. Been chatting to wedge tonight who thought the same... Not going to get too many track days in away from racing, but would love a big group forum turn out. Ill obviously have to see what's available around me and wedge in terms of dates, but will just pick one and hope loads can come. Anyone welcome..... The only other thought for this - and please don't laugh is to contact Mallory Park direct and see if they will let us have a private day / open pit lane - downside is the 98db limit they have to work to now which many will struggle with. Also lots to organise and minimum numbers needed etc. and its no MotoGP track like Silverstone although it is central. Who is the operator for the date proposed Jimbo?
No chance Al with Mallory that would rule most of us out unless you have a standard exhaust . I think as Jimbo is doing is best pick a date/track and stick to it otherwise it will never happen some will make it some won't and each person just book if they want to come and sort there own digs out just keep it simple .Silverstone is good for me and the northern massive for location so hopefully we can get a good turnout I am sure the Oulton regulars will be up for this.
Yep - agree Jase - was just after the visit last weekend they are very open to ideas to get the track in use - but knowing how 'hard core' you racers are when I typed it I thought 'lead balloon' lol You are right though - pick a date like Jimbo did and that's it - there is no way to please everyone and Silverstone perfect for giving bikes some stick.
Just something to think of guys. NL did me a group buy last year with 10 or more people. We got 10% off, but did have to book and pay as a unit. So maybe maybe sending them a mail and asking them. 15£ off would be a nice pressy..... Maybe we could pay jimbo and he could sort it out? after he's the one arranging this
I don't mind ringing and trying skip, the only issue I would say is that I've seen this happen before, everyone says yes, then come pay day it all goes quiet and it doesn't get booked then the whole thing falls over. Sure we can come up with something though mate. But don't fancy paying £1,590 upfront and a bit of a mission everyone sending me the dough. Ill speak to Clair as the date wedge suggested is a no limits day, def get reserved garages etc, might be able to do a code thing where they credit everyone 10% on the 10th booking??
