Need a bit of advice basically the front brake is shit its a abs model but I don't think its a abs problem I bought the bike end of last summer didn't seem that brilliant at the time any way parked it up for the winter took it out yesterday for the first ride of the year and again today the front brake feels a bit spongy but there's no bite there whatsoever it feels like your not going to stop its a 10 plate 3000 miles any way I'm going to order some new pads and see if that makes any difference iv been looking at SBS sintered or ebc or does anyone have any better recommendations

My 14 plates don't feel great, some times spongy some times ok.

I've always used ebc, my mate put brembo in his blade and took them out due to juddering.

I've got some hel brake lines to go on it, when was the brake fluid last changed?

Might be worth changing fluid/check Pistons move freely

If it feels spongy first thing I'd do is change the fluid and bleed them properly.

Once you bleed them leave a cable tie holding lever on over night so the air will raise up to master cylinder

Never had a problem with standard Honda pads on 2008 / 2014 Non ABS and 2012 ABS. Maybe the pads are contaminated with oil or something? It would definitely be worth cleaning discs and replacing pads.

I think a check and good clean/bleed is in order.
Like Ian said the OEM pads are very good, check them for contamination/glazing etc, clean the discs and bobbins too.

It's an ABS, so A, Bleeding is beyond most Home Mechanics and B they feel spongy anyway.

It's worth doing however but will cost you a fair bit at the Stealers.
If U bought from a Dealer it's a shame U didn't mention it straight away as a full ABS bleed aint cheap and would've been done FOC last year I'd have thought

I put SBS Street excel pads in my 2010 blade and they made a massive difference. I plan to put them in the 2012 as well.
