Time to change the front pads again and replace pad pins and mounts for something far easier on the eye.
I applied some acf 50 to the bolts and pins on Friday night and left to dry . Removed calipers and cleaned in parts washer then fitted new pads after scamfering edges slightly bolted and tourqed up and job done. Front end looks a lot better now I think . Old pins a right state but that's two winters worth of committing I suppose.
Pins were seventeen quid and bolts twenty. Next day delivery too. I've always used gen or pro bolt before but I'm converted to race bolt now . Good enough for the lcr team its good enough for me to use as I shout at prick on phones during my commute.
That is one job I will have to do at some point. Looks good. are the pins & bolts titanium or S-steel? Could you post the part numbers as I thought the bolts were £12 each (similar range to the OEM ones)
While your at it mate put some stainless pistons in them as by the look of those old pins I wouldn’t be surprised if the standard one aren’t pitted?
I'll check workshop bin for bags with the numbers on. Pistons ok really slight pitting on surface edge but otherwise ok. I am planning on putting a set in next pad change. Need to do cam timing first so a shim kit to buy next.
