It is not possible to have the GP shift on the 2008 model because of the gearbox (or cover) that's in the way.
Is there anyway to make the GP shift possible as i would really like to try it?

I run GP shift on my 2008. Needed different rearsets (I run Gilles VCR38GT) but I didn't have to touch the sprocket cover.

Highly recommended, especially with a quickshifter!!

You can either remove the cover if you just want to try it or if you do like it, you can trim it with a dremel so it clears the shift rod.

A new rear set is so expensive, i really don't want to spend that much for reverse shifting.

It's so worth it. Keep an eye on Ebay for a second hand set.
