Grantham Honda quoted £360 to change my brake fluid, Wheels Honda Peterborough said they feel charging full man hours for this job doesn't endear their customers to them so they only charge £90 and they will give me a demo of my choice for the day, no brainier then? Well there's the dilemma, do Wheels mechanics have the experience and knowledge given that they are new to Honda??

If its an ABS £90 sounds way too cheap for a Main Dealer Bleed (5 Hours?). Maybe they have just quoted for bleeding a standard system?

I'd say Wheels Honda are quoting for a non-ABS Bike.

    If not then......

    A) They are on a loss leader
    B) They don't know what they're letting themselves in for
    C) They're just Muppets who intend on just doing a conventional bleed on an ABS

Anyone know how much it would cost on a BMW or Ducati, just interested?

Guessing but I'd say they'd quote an hours labour plus a few quid for the fluid as its a conventional Bleed on a BMW or Ducati - 1 hours labour = £80+?

Yes, most, if not all other Bikes use the superior BOSCH ABS system which can be bled conventionally.

The Honda system is a Bag-O-Wank and takes at least 3 Hrs by a Tech whose well versed in the procedure.

£90 is certainly not indicative of it being done correctly but if you're happy then carry on OP, tiz your life!

Anyway how are you simon don't get out much these days, I guess I'm just too quick for you

    Indeed you are Carl ;)
I am very busy at work and so have not been on road much this year :( managed to get some track days in and have two more booked soon too, was expecting you to join us this year with your track bike? But maybe next year now ;)
I love my blade too, but hand on heart can not guarantee my next bike will be one? :(

I can recommend Wheels in Peterborough and their mechanics, been taking my bikes there for the last 3 years and they are all Honda's. They are a fair place to deal with and stick to their word, even if it is at a loss to them. Never had an ABS bleed done there as yet, assuming its the same one on the CBR600F-Ac, then they will be doing that one in a couple of years time for the mrs as its on a service plan there.

I have bought my last 3 bikes from them, they are expensive base prices but the lifetime warranty just keeps me going back.

    That's buy not by
I bought an RR5 from them some years ago, the bike was the best I've ever had bar my current, only because I bought it new mind. The only negative was that when I got home and started to replace the number plate with a small one it turned out that wheels had replaced the plate with one with their name on it they put the wrong number on the plate and I did a couple of hundred miles

How cool is that though, a guarantee of no speeding fines until you notice it and have to change it, and if the police stop you, you literally bought it like that as it has their name on it. I know they shouldn't mess up like that, but they are human and everyone gets it wrong once in a while, my spelling / typing is terrible to start with, what hope do I have ;)

As for their service, I can nothing but praise them to date :)
