I just signed up to Marshal at the 2019 IoMTT. I've been a marshal at tracks here in the US (lots of times they will give you a free track day in exchange for marshal duties and as a Rider Coach, this is perfect!) but never abroad. I reckon I'll be attending the TT if my application gets accepted. Apparently they use 5-600 marshals every day at the TT events. That's a LOT of marshals. http://www.iomttma.com/oservices/index.php Everyone should sign up, we can have a party at the TT...and someone (@nigelrb, I'm looking at you mate ) could possibly lend me a bike?
First, congrats on volunteering for such a worthy and enjoyable cause. More importantly though, I'm all in favour of helping our international friends (with Scottish heritage) and would love to hand over a bike. Logistically though, this would be difficult. You would do much better to take a train from Heathrow to London and just steal a bike or scooter from the city precinct. The chance of being apprehended, on current statistics, is remote.
And have also been known to Marshall @Lozzy you have far too much insight into Member's private lives!
You ask the strangest questions @Lozzy. I spend a lot of time watching 'Little Women' and the copycat shows which are the American rage at present. Also, I was a regular participant in 'Dwarf Throwing' which was an exciting pastime before 'political correctness' saw it outlawed. To be fair though, never had I thrown a nurse. Volunteers were generally those who wanted to experience more of an Adrenalin rush than sitting at home listening to Randy Newman's 'Short People'. When I'm not doing the aforementioned, I might be writing material that requires medical knowledge and that is when I will turn to my Mini Nurses Dictionary of medical terms.
Probably 'mean'. Stashed up there on purpose. My short ex-wife started reading them. I feared she might end up more intelligent than me, and I wasn't having any of that.
