I went out today looking at helmets and the one that fitted me and seemed nice and comfy was a Nolan, trouble is last time i had a Nolan was 15+ years ago and they were cheap and nasty so could not bring myself to spend £200 on one.

tried on Arai, AGV, shoei (they have gone up in price), and the Nolan was the best fit but would be worried about noise, quality etc.

what helmets do you guys use, my budget is around £400 don't really want to spend much more as i have an Aria i have worn 4 times but is too big, i bought an XL and need a Large so wife not impressed.

Yeah ive had 2 Xlites and wouldnt go back just love them

The 803 Carbon fit me perfect and just as good quality as Shoei etc and lighter.. they also make 5 shell sizes which means you get the right lid size not one bigger with more lining padding as many only make 3 shell sizes

Other lid is a NXR Shoei and thats quite a nice simple quality lid

For the price of some new internal which would be Less than half you budget you could get you arai custom fitted to your head and better than anything else you will buy off the shelf.
With what’s left you could have some wrapping done to make it look a little newer?

Another happy x-lite carbon owner. Got the older 802r and will likely replace it with another x-lite carbon. Previously used Arai and Shark.

I had the smallest bit of lacquer peel off my 802 on the lower edge.. Spoke to them and they sent it away and gave me a free upgrade to a 803

Hi , it is the Race Star, they do 3 models, the base, Star(road), Race Star(fast road/track) and Pro Star(top line track focused) Plenty of reviews online, I love it, I only ride road but found the features on the "Race" Star suited my needs and pocket the Pro is a bit much.

Any time anyone mentions helmet shopping I shudder.

I haven't been able to get one to fit right since my Arai Viper GT reached the end of its life. I think I tried everything on and the Shoei NXR was closest I could get. It's still not quite right though. Not narrow enough.

Try the X-lite. I had 2 viper gt in the past and my x-lite 802r is a great fit.

How do you find the 802r for noise compared with the Arai ? I’m looking to change my arai soon and looking at the 803r carbon.

Difficult to say as I wear moulded earplugs with builtin speakers. I can say however that I have the volume on minimum setting but with auto adjust.

Nah, the friggin' shape I'm talkin' about. Was like a deep sea diver's Bell.

    I'm friggin' outa here. Tank pad's wrong; helmet's wrong; friggin' Ducati's wrong . . .
