Trying to fit rear sets can't see how the gear lever comes away from the gear link rod, there's like a round knuckle as such but I can't get it to pop off. HELP

Don’t think it does come away from the oem rear sets

Yes and so have these I have the new gear lever but I can't fit it as I can not get the bottom of the gear link rod off the oem gear lever

Rearsets usually come with a replacement gear lever set up, gear lever, shift rod and top bracket to completely replace the oem set up, sounds like yours is missing the shift rod
