Hi all, John from Ireland here. Been driving bikes since I was 17 and 18 bikes later I have gotten a 2004 Fireblade. I have lusted after one of these since they were released. I haven't done much mileage on it as I have a blackbird as a cummuter too but it's a serious machine. Glad too be here. John.
hey John welcome to the forum, im from up north (the sh!te end) lol where about in Eire ya from? do you follow the road racing?
Thanks all! I'm from Kildare, I follow the road racing a bit alright. I generally hit the NW200 each year and skerries as a rule, been meaning to get to more. The hope is that next year I will get to as many as I can! I was at the TT in 2007 and I'm crazy to get back over next year. I did two years of racing the short circuits on a 400 and mini twins in Mondello, kirkiston and bishopscourt. I do the odd track day but am alot more carefully on the road bikes. Would do the racing again if I could muster up the money. Where in the north are you from? Having a few issues with the blade mostly to do with the gearshift bearing&spindle, new parts on the way but it looks like a previous owner was over enthusiastic with a power washer and busted the seal. This caused the bearing to go bad and wear the spindle. I generally take every bike I get apart and give it a decent once over but I'm smashed after buying this one. There is an obligatory wish list of about €700 worth of gear to make it mine. Should be 100% by next summer if we get one at all! This year has been very wet. Yep she is a beauty but I'm a perfectionist! To a degree Cheers, John.
im up in county antrim right at the top left of lough neagh. love skerries, are you going to killilane? we are at both every year, we set up camp at the monument round at the red island carpark in the town.we will be down for killilane so if you are about pop round and say hello (im on a 09 hrc). lovely part of the country you live in....plenty of guard free roads lol.
I was at kilalane last year, great meeting! Haven't confirmed it with work yet but I'll try to get to it. Yeah we are lucky about the lack of policing but it only takes one Ejit to ruin a day. I have to disagree about the Nice roads we have, they are in a poor state compared to up north. The surface is desperate on ours! You can still knock some fun out of them though!
yeah but more twisties and jumps to have fun on....apart from the coast most of our roads are straight and boring lol
hi mate, also been ridding since i was 17 but i came to my senses after just 5 bikes and bought my blade,
