How much do you know? 10 road signs I will confess to being a smart arse and as I got 10/10 without cheating I did find it easy..... https://www.regit.cars/car-quiz/road-sign-quiz_447
10/10 None of the answers for the last question were factually right, but I knew what the Nannies were after.
Aha! It was this one: Options were: Keep your speed the same Slow down Speed up The highway code description is 'Bend to right (or left if symbol reversed)'
Ah but lads..... The symbol is in a red triangle which means it's a 'Warning' sign..... so...Warning Bend to Right.....Slow Down Ah well, back to the ironing.......
what!!! you slow down for bends lozy? speed up and hang off and get your knee down... thought the red triangle meant "Fun Ahead"...
But the question was "What should you do?" It did not ask what does it mean, so the generic answer of slow down is correct
Well, the opening page of the quiz says 'But are you 100% sure of what every road sign is telling you to do?' That sign is telling you to prepare for a turn in the road. You may need to slow down, you may not, the sign cannot advise
Then why are they called Advisory signs if they cannot advise? It is advising you of a bend to the right ahead, you may be required to slow down. Triangular signs red border white backgrounds = advisory Round signs red border white background = order or prohibition
Because they are not called advisory signs, they are called warning signs - this one is warning of an upcoming bend. Here you go, knock yourself out: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/traffic-signs
OK. I am old school so I will stick with Advisory which is what they used to be called or advanced warning which seems to be the common term. I am not going to get het up over it.
