I was on my way to work, filtering along as you do, going past stopped traffic on my left when a van decided to do a U turn just as I came up along side him, of course I hit the brakes, it was raining yesterday morning so that didn't do much, so it was the old American Football shoulder barge into the side of his van, I bounced off and fell on the oncoming lane flat on my arse in the rain. He was apologetic enough and everyone kept asking if I was alright, all I could do was think about my poor CB500. Ambulance turned up within 20 seconds of me coming off as he was coincidentally going to another job but had to stop when he saw me, I didn't need him. Anyways called my insurance who were crap, so I took matters in to my own hands and called the company that owns the van and we have settled out of insurance. Two indicators and a bent left pedal. Could have been worse... I could have been on the Blade
Bloody vans .. Glad it was not to bad mate .. Doesn't take much to make things a lot worse on two wheels
Oh dear glad your ok fella and glad the damage was light fair play for having the nouse to sort it your self!
Thanks all, funny though after a crap day yesterday I had a great day today, got a long overdue contract and booked myself onto a taster day to become a motorcycle instructor. The ups and downs of life hey
I really hate to see threads where people are knocked off bikes, injured bashed bruised or worse, by the I'm sorry I didn't see you brigade. Glad your ok mate. I'm feeling pretty shit at the minute so excuse me for rambling.
Is your bike made out of sponge? I am sure you will fine more scrapes or damage . Glad to see you are ok .
Cb500 mate, they look the same after a crash...damm good bike that.. . I am always chuffed if I can crash and not dammage my bike...
Lol, yeah thats what I thought, not even any fairing damage at all, no scrapes on the exhaust after it hit the deck and the bike was laying on it. As arthurbikemad says, what a great bike the CB500 is. Now let me see, where shall I stick all these sponges
You did well with no harm.. I mean it too about the cb I think they are the nuts, had a new one for a while it ran rings round just about anything on the twisty B roads and in town awsome..
Glad all is ok mate. Same sorry old story though isn't it? All drivers should be made to do 6 months on 2 wheels before being allowed to drive something with 4.
Same happened to me albeit it was a Range Rover some 12yrs ago. Bloody wrote off my 1month old Blackbird and broke a few bones to boot! Glad your OK
