Recently got a hand-me-down RR5 from my dad. Was once a repsol affair but a deer hit done in all the bodywork(and the radiator). It's been lying in the barn for 8 years or so. Been tinkering away on it for the last couple of weeks. Is at 32k so it's service time as well as damage repair. Done the clearances (3 out, 5 more on the tight end - all good now), new air filters, plugs(eek at the cost of iridiums), oil and filter, painting assorted rusty bits, Been a few "WTF is this" moments(sensors mainly and the big cylindrical thing on the left had me baffled until I got in to the variable air intake). Aha - some kind of pressure invertor! ...and an entertaining one following the manual through airbox reassembly: Connect breather hose - check Connect PAIR intake hose - "Hmmm - pair? I only see one." But the lingo's starting to sink in and either my hands have shrunk or I'm getting handier with the socket set's little UJ, because a fortnight ago everything seemed unbearably tight and footery, whereas now it just seems tight and footery. Have also been perusing the forum here(man there's a lot of shiny stuff that can be bolted onto this thing). Seems like a friendly place so just thought Id say hi.
Like Donny and Marie, but not quite related, not that that would stop @bazzashadow. Duelling banjos anyone
Hi and welcome, I’m just up the road next to Balloch. I’ll probably hear you screaming up the A82 sometime soon.
The mating call You must get it bad there. I've paddled all over the loch and camped on the islands and there have been days where the "come play" trumpets are non-stop.
