I have cancelled my Sky subscription and am about to purchase a Humax box. I currently have bt for my internet, land line and mobile phone. Am I correct in thinking that I will get my bt sport channels via the Humax box, or do I have to get a bt box? Thanks.

The Humax box is Freeview only, so no pay TV channels.
You'll have to get NowTV or similar.

I think I will get the bt box, it gets a reasonable review.

I've had freeview for a couple of years now. I use the iPad for watching BT sport. Not sure if this helps tho...:)

I was going to go for the BT Box, but my aerial signal was not good enough, plus - dont get HD Versions of certain channels (BBC2HD for example)

Im buying the Humax freesat box, and then using a chromecast to play BT Sport on the TV from my BT Sport App on my mobile

Judging from the title of this thread I thought this was going to be a question about funeral arrangements

Nope - Chromecast just plugs into any free HDMI Port on the TV

Bear in mind - the BT Box runs on digital aerial (Coax), whereas the Humax box will use your existing Sky Satellite Connectors.

I see. Fortunately, I still have a regular aerial.

How many channels does this box receive? I will also have to purchase an extra long ethernet lead, my hub is in the hall way.

The Humax Freesat box will run off your old sky dish. I use a BT router and can pay extra which allows me to watch BT sport; through the BT app on my iPad. No need to purchase a BT (tv)box... Then you can decide how to get BT sport onto your own TV. Not sure if the method depends on the age of the tv?

Can I obtain bt sport on the Humax Freesat box? I am a paid up member of bt etc. The bt box does not even have wifi.

Sadly BT sport (as far as I'm aware) is not part of freesat. The way I get BT sport is using the BT router and pay an extra £5 ish (if I remember correctly) per month to receive BT sport using my iPad. Then I believe you could use chromecast to put it onto your TV. If you use a laptop you might just be able to plug in a HDMI cable. Better IT orientated people than me will know better than me...
